Long Live the Queen

Last night the hospital held its annual Gala. The theme was Caribbean Nights. My partner (as in business and medical practice) Sharon Liu was crowned Queen of the Gala. She is on the far left in the picture. She raised more than any of the female candidates (over $22,000) and in fact set a new record for fundraising for this event. The five candidates raised over $70,000.

I had a lot of fun, and the only downside was Nancy couldn't be there as she had a performance of the Easton Choral Arts Society at the same time. There was also an auction (I didn't bid on anything) and dinner which was great. By the way, deep fried brownie bites are on the things to eat before you die.

Today I took my younger two sons canoeing in one of the old Grumman aluminum canoes that will be used by the mole people after the apocalypse (these canoes and Twinkies are some of the few commercially available items that can withstand a nuclear holocaust). We went fishing (as opposed to catching) and got a good upper body workout when the wind and current picked up. Or at least I did.

Well, I will be on call 7 of the next 11 days. I can't wait for August when it is every third day.

As ever was,

Mick
